Bicycle Parts

197762267_60a6b23fe5While browsing around in a bike shop, it is important to know that there are many varieties of accessories you can purchase. You might think some of these accessories may be of no use to you, but even if you are a casual biker, you should consider buying some of these accessories to find comfort when riding your bicycle.

You could try buying a well-cushioned seat for your bicycle. These are very easy to find, and there are some that you could just pull over your seat. But I recommend just buying a new seat instead of just putting a regular cushion over an uncomfortable one. A good padded seat will allow you to ride your bike for longer periods of time, whether or not you ride your bicycle for fun or for exercise.

Most new bicycles come with pedals that offer no real grip; so another good upgrade for your bike would be some new pedals with teeth. These pedals will help keep your feet on them so that your feet wouldn’t slip off and cause an accident.

Another good investment would be on a quality headlight, especially if you’re doing any type of night riding. You shouldn’t go too cheap when purchasing a bicycle light since the cheap ones barely light up enough for you to see ahead of you. A quality high beam light will not only provide you with enough lighting to see that road, but it can also act as an alert for oncoming traffic. These lights may come with a rechargeable battery, and as well as the backlight. Backlights aren’t as expensive, but these are good to have because the more light you have, the more likely cars will see you.

You may think a bicycle bell might be useless, and you’re probably one of those who would laugh at others that have one. But bells make it easier for you to warn others ahead that you are coming through. They will help a lot while riding bike trails since people sometimes walk on them too. Instead of calling out to pedestrians, you could just ring your bell and they could just move aside.2315377966_ae2d33dce8

Bicycle gloves and bottle attachments are good accessories to consider, too. The gloves will help prevent your hand from getting calluses, and the bottle attachments will make it easier to carry around refreshments. When you’re buying your accessories, you should always ask yourself what would make your riding experience more comfortable.
