Metal or resin disc pads?
I'm building a mountain bike and cannot decide take, hydraulic disc pads metal or resin pads. Cost is the same, but do not know any pros or cons. Any help is welcome. XTR Brakes is, and will use the bike XC AM /. Also, it is hard enough for all XTR Mountain? The cost is close to the XT for this group, but has improved in the PM lost?
The biggest differences between metal and resin is heat buildup and noise. Metallics will generate heat and be very quite a bit noisier, but will last longer. Resin will wear very quickly, but will be much less likely to get hot enough to warp a rotor or something like that, they are much more evenly than metal pads. Personally, I hate XTR brakes absolutely. In terms of power, they must be good for all mountain, but they just dont work as well as XT or Avid Elixirs thought my ... To add to that the fact that they use to adjust the caliper shims dumbass and they are a joke in my book. I've had them before and I would never run them again, the only advantage they offer some weight savings, but it just isn't valid opinion my.
